Nuestra Senora de los Remedios
M.H. del Pilar Street, Malate, Manila
Another beautiful Manila Catholic church that is. Nuestra Senora de los Remedios, more commonly known as Malate Church, unfortunately didn’t survive the way San Agustin in Intramuros did. Nonetheless, the wonderful baroque facade of this structure is still more than a century old.
What probably keeps this church among the more recognizable ones in Manila is the fact that it faces Roxas Boulevard, one of the best spots to witness the daily afternoon spectacle that is the Manila Bay sunset. On that golden moment, Malate Church turns gold as well. That photograph above though, was taken noontime.
